Is it okay to answer if the team leader asks about whether I am using employee EAP counseling?
Hello. I am in charge of operating the EAP counseling program in the HR team.
Recently, a team leader asked if I could confirm whether a team member had applied for EAP counseling, expressing concern about the employee's condition.
I understand your intention to look after your staff, but I am cautious in my response because whether or not a consultation is used can be sensitive information.
I understand that the details of the consultation should obviously not be shared, but I am wondering if I should also not tell the team leader whether or not I applied for a consultation.
In this case, how should the HR team safely inform the team leader?
When I am concerned about an employee's condition, would it be sufficient to respond by simply guiding them to meetings or support methods available to the manager?
