To what extent should HR intervene in inter-departmental work conflicts?
I'm worried because the HR team keeps contacting me lately regarding work scope issues between departments.
There is a task that Team A and Team B need to handle together, but they keep saying that it is not their job and that the other department should sort it out first.
At first, I only helped by scheduling meetings and summarizing and conveying the opinions of both sides.
Requests from HR are increasingly growing, such as asking for standards to be established or for measures to be taken regarding uncooperative departments.
However, from my perspective, work priorities and specific job divisions are ultimately areas that department heads or management should decide, so it felt awkward for the HR team to be completely excluded.
However, I am worried that if HR continues to mediate in the middle, it will eventually become an atmosphere where the HR team has to resolve all departmental conflicts.
To what extent does HR intervene in other companies when there are work conflicts or collaboration disputes between departments?
I am wondering if it is appropriate to limit my role to arranging meetings or coordinating communications, or if I can also propose some adjustments.
