When you receive an official notice regarding free safety and health training, how do you check if it is โmandatory trainingโ?
Hello, I am in charge of safety and health training at my company.
These days, I often receive notices about free safety and health training via email or fax.
Since it is in the form of an official document and contains phrases such as "free training support" and "eligible workplaces," at first glance it can feel like mandatory training that must be taken at the company.
The notice I recently received also states that it is training related to the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency.
I couldn't quite tell if this was legally mandatory training or just a free support program I could apply for.
Even if the name of the training or official document includes terms like "mandatory" or "essential," it seems I need to verify separately whether it is actually statutory training. Where do you usually check first?
Verify if the sending agency is really the Corporation or the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
I am wondering if I need to review details such as the target audience, legal basis, and training hours one by one.
It seems that external training institutions sometimes misrepresent training as being supported by the Corporation or government agencies. Therefore, if you receive such an official document, please share any methods to verify if it is genuinely mandatory training or if there are any internal verification procedures.
