View at a glance
We operated the system in a way that brought counseling closer to the staff, tailored to the characteristics of the shift work store. Over 9 days, we connected 16 people for counseling and provided guidance on counseling channels that could be used even after operations ended.

📌 The store is open the next day as well.

Store operations continue even after an accident. The person in charge's concern is more about "whether to provide consultation" than Where, when, to whom It was close to that. The employees worked in shifts, so their arrival times were all different, and there was no space inside the store to talk quietly.

Nudge EAP is a solution where employees go to counseling instead The way counselors approach staff We chose to do this. We opened an in-house psychological counseling center near the store and operated it so that employees could stop by anytime before or after work.

location Utilizing space near the store Outside the store and within walking distance
Operating hours 3 counselors working in shifts, 9 AM to 6 PM Time slots when shift workers can stop by before and after their shift

Using a separate space outside the store makes it less noticeable to colleagues as one enters the consultation room, and it is also separated from the store's traffic flow during business hours. This is why employees could visit the consultation room without feeling pressured.

Could we open an in-house psychological counseling center at our workplace as well?

Inquiry regarding on-site crisis response support

📊 Connected 16 people to counseling over 9 days

division personnel detail
Priority support recipients 11 people The employee who first identified the need for support
Final consultation referral 16 people Expanding the scope of support during operation and connecting
On-site consultation 13 people Counseling conducted at the in-house psychological counseling center

Compared to the 11 people initially chosen 16 people, 5 more We connected them to counseling. Since a counseling center was continuously operating nearby, even employees who were not initially eligible were able to receive support. We also guided employees who did not wish to receive counseling and those who had resigned to counseling channels they could use in the future.

The employee, who initially said everything was fine, visited the counseling room a few days later.

An employee who had not requested counseling during the initial announcement asked for it a few days later, complaining of acute stress. This was because the in-house psychological counseling center was operating near the store. Consult immediately without waiting for an appointment. I was able to receive [it], which led to continued counseling.

Reactions immediately after an accident may differ from those a few days later. Even employees who answered "I'm fine" during the initial notification should be able to be visited again at any time. We kept the counseling room door open throughout the operating period.

🧾 To ensure it continues even after the counseling center closes

Nudge EAP, as it concludes the operation of the counseling center, to the employees Consultation channels available for future use We provided sufficient guidance. We conveyed contact methods to employees who received counseling for ongoing counseling, and to employees who did not wish to receive counseling at the time so that they could apply again when needed.

I recommend this to corporate representatives.
There may be employees who require counseling even after the crisis situation has ended. This is to be used for future counseling support. Allocate a separate reserve fund If you do this, you can directly direct the necessary staff to an external consultation center.

✅ 5 things to decide in advance before a crisis

  • ☐ Are there any potential spaces near the workplace that can be used as a counseling room?
  • ☐ Can I set the operating hours of the counseling room to fit shift work schedules?
  • ☐ Have you confirmed which budget will cover the costs for emergency on-site support?
  • ☐ Do you provide guidance so that even employees who initially did not wish to consult can return at any time?
  • ☐ Have you prepared counseling channels and contingency funds to be used after the counseling center closes?

The speed of crisis response comes not from the day of the accident, but from the preparations made beforehand.
